From inaugural General Manager at South Melbourne FC to two-time CEO: what Peter looks for when he promotes people.
Produce: team capstone pitch and career action plan.The capstone. You're placed in a team of four from week 3. In week 6 each team has 15 minutes to pitch a partnership, an event bid or a turnaround plan to Peter, then takes questions. Every participant then receives written feedback from Peter on their capstone contribution and portfolio.
What you leave with. Six portfolio pieces, a certificate of completion, and a place in the alumni network: a private LinkedIn group where Peter shares roles and opportunities from his network, with a live alumni Q&A every quarter. The top capstone team each cohort gets a personal LinkedIn recommendation from Peter and an introduction to a contact in their area of interest.

Peter Filopoulos
Twice-appointed CEO. Twenty-five years inside Australian and international sport, across both football codes, Olympic sport, stadiums, governing bodies and a home Women's World Cup.
He started as the inaugural General Manager of South Melbourne FC in the National Soccer League, then ran a training venue for the Sydney 2000 Olympic football tournament. From there: Swimming Australia, Etihad Stadium (now Marvel Stadium), and senior commercial roles in the AFL as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hawthorn and Director of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Affairs at North Melbourne.
Then the top job. CEO of Perth Glory from 2015, leading the club's turnaround. CEO of Football Victoria from 2018. In 2020 he joined Football Australia's Executive Leadership Team as Chief Customer, Brand, Marketing and Communications Officer, through FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 and the Matildas' rise.
Most recently he took that playbook overseas as Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer with Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment. Today he runs Intrepid Fox Group, advising boards and CEOs across sport, major events, brand and partnerships, and venues.

I'm outside Australia. Can I join?
Yes. Cohorts 1 and 2 run on Tuesday evenings, Melbourne time. The program is charged in Australian dollars and participants can join from anywhere.
Do I need to be studying sport management?
No. The program suits anyone working toward a role in sport administration, including career changers and graduates from business, marketing or law.
How does the capstone work?
You're placed in a team of four from week 3. In week 6, each team pitches to Peter for 15 minutes and takes questions. Everyone then receives written feedback from Peter on their contribution and portfolio.
What if I miss a live session?
Every session is recorded and shared within 24 hours. To earn the certificate of completion you need to attend five of six sessions live and contribute to your team's capstone.
How much time does it take each week?
Around three hours: the 90-minute live session plus your assignment.
What is the alumni network?
A private LinkedIn group for everyone who has completed the program. Peter shares roles and opportunities from his network there, and runs a live alumni Q&A every quarter.
Can my university or employer pay?
Yes. Use the enquiry button and we'll issue an invoice from Intrepid Fox Group Pty Ltd, payable in full before the program starts.
What's the refund policy?
Full refund up to seven days before the cohort starts. After that, you can transfer to the next cohort at no cost. Full details in our terms.
